A versatile and economical classroom tool for measuring power levels of laser beams, demodulating optical signals for audio applications and solar experiments. Photometers are essential equipment in any principles-of-technology or in-school research program. The battery power and portability of this model offer particular flexibility.

The photometer is powered by two standard 9-volt batteries and offers 4 digital measurements scales from 20 microwatts through 20 milliwatts. It demodulates optical signals up to 10 kHz and provides a DC analog output through standard banana jacks. (The analog output can be connected to a strip chart recorder for solar monitoring or to an oscilloscope for observing optical signals. The photometer will also act as an audio receiver to demodulate laser signals, which are also output to the analog jacks.)

Photometer comes complete with storage container, optical stand for the detector, instruction manual and batteries.
